THE FIZZ NEW 1.jpg

THE FIZZ

The Fizz (formally Bucks Fizz) rose to fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 with their hit song Making Your Mind Up. The group was originally formed specifically for the contest and consisted of four vocalists. Their performance gained attention for its memorable dance routine, which involved the male members ripping off the female members' outer skirts to reveal shorter ones underneath—a playful nod to the song's lyrics.

Following their Eurovision victory, Bucks Fizz became one of the most successful pop acts of the 1980s in the UK. They achieved three No.1 singles: Making Your Mind Up, The Land of Make Believe, and My Camera Never Lies. Additionally, they had several other Top 10 hits, including Now Those Days Are Gone and New Beginning (Mamba Seyra).

Original members Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston are two names that are iconic in Eurovision history. Mike Nolan has recently retired but Cheryl and Jay have

been joined by Matthew Pateman and Nikk Mager.

Matthew rose to fame as the lead singer of the 1990’s boy band, Bad Boys Inc, and Nikk was a member of the boy band, Phixx, after appearing on Popstars: The Rivals, in 2002.  Both bands had chart success: Bad Boys Inc with 6 top 40 hits and Phixx with 4 top 40 hits.

The past few years have been incredibly busy, both on stage and in the studio. They have performed at festivals and 80s weekends all over the country, plus recorded four albums with the legendary Mike Stock of Stock, Aiken and Waterman fame.

With another album on the cards and gigs flying in by the day, 2025 looks as though it will be the busiest yet for The Fizz. Cheryl, Jay, Matthew and Nikk will be fizzing more than ever this year

Their music continues to be celebrated for catchy melodies and iconic 80s sounds, and we know they're going to have everyone at the farm ripping off the Velcro!

MODERN ROMANCE

David Jaymes co-formed Modern Romance  in 1981. That same year, vocalist Andy Kyriacou joined the band. Andy's PR ideas were incorporated by the band for the release of the single Everybody Salsa and within 8 weeks Modern Romance had their first chart hit.

The song was later rebranded, remixed and released as a single, reaching number 2 in the U.S. Billboard dance charts as Can You Move.

This was followed up with Ay Ay Ay Ay Moosey which made the top 10 singles chart in the U.K. and was soon followed up with Queen of the Rapping Scene (Nothing Ever Goes The Way You Plan). After another hit with Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White the band released Best Years of Our Lives, a song which has since become an anthem for the 80s.

Three more hits followed in 1983. The first of these was High Life,  followed by Don't Stop That Crazy Rhythm and finally their last chart hit, the beautiful ballad, Walking In The Rain, which became one of the biggest selling singles of the year.

The band toured extensively in Europe and the Far East, picking up Gold Discs for tracks and albums released in several territories.

Following the use of "Best Years Of Our Lives" in the film Shrek, the band were introduced to a new world of fans

In 2019 the band released their first single since the 80s, putting out Rhythm Is My Lover. Following this, an album titled Their Greatest Hits was released in December 2020, featuring all of their hits from the 80s plus six brand new songs.
